How to read the totals
Counts are records, not unique elections. The 78 observed years do not mean continuous or complete coverage across 1900–2025, and coverage varies by year, office and state. Missing or inconsistent fields are left absent and are never estimated.
Citations are not new verification
Each record links its original source and shows its stored confidence and evidence labels. The library does not reproduce publisher articles. A citation does not prove causation, grant republication rights or certify the whole archive.

Projection and source rights
The projection excludes 12,878 clipped race identities and 61 current-year records whose completed-result dates were not verified. Unsupported margin values are withheld. Source-rights labels are carried from an exact source-URL match where available; open access does not establish a redistribution license. Original commercial-use labels remain visible.
